Craggs Energy Secures Place on National Public Sector Framework

Calderdale-based Craggs Energy has secured a position on major national framework, ESPO, that gives public bodies a compliant route to buy fuel without the need to run their own tender process.

The company has been awarded a place on ESPO’s new 301_26 Liquid Fuels framework, which runs until August 2028 and covers up to 300 million litres of potential fuel provision over its two-year term. It means schools, councils, NHS trusts, housing providers and emergency services in Yorkshire, the North West and across England, Wales and Scotland can order kerosene, red and white diesel and Flame 35 industrial heating oil from Craggs Energy as a verified supplier.

Also available through the Framework is HVO, a drop in alternative to white diesel, meaning organisations can change to a greener alternative without making significant changes to existing vehicles, machinery, generators or storage infrastructure.

The place on the framework comes as public sector teams plan for winter heating and test standby generators. Craggs Energy already supplies local organisations, including Tatham Fells Primary School and Liverpool Women’s Hospital NHS Trust, and reports a 98.5% on-time delivery rate.

As an employee-owned business, Craggs Energy’s staff have a personal stake in the company, giving peace of mind to buyers that those responsible for taking orders, planning delivery routes and handling out-of-hours calls are focused on delivering the very best service under the framework.

Employee ownership also keeps profits and decision-making within the business, which helps public sector bodies demonstrate social value when awarding contracts.

Lisa Bennett, CEO at Craggs Energy, said: “Public sector teams are being asked to do three things at once — keep sites running without interruption, take carbon out of their operations, and demonstrate value and social value on every pound they spend. Fuel supply touches all three.

“As a verified supplier under the 301_26 Liquid Fuels framework, public sector customers can use us compliantly and quickly. But what we pride ourselves on most is our outstanding service levels and track record of delivering when it matters most, responding quickly, competitively and effectively when our clients need us. This is reflected in our company mantra: ‘What matters to you matters to us’.”
